Twenty Myths About Robot Vacuum Deals: Busted

Top Black Friday and Cyber Monday Robot Vacuum Deals

This is your chance to own a robotic vacuum. CNET's best-rated models will be available for Black Friday and Cyber Monday with discounts as high as 57%..

The Roborock Q7 Max is a powerful robot that has smart mapping and app-based no go zones. Its run time of 180 minutes is impressive. It also self-empties and automatically refills its water tank.

1. Roomba j7+ from iRobot

The Roomba J7+, IRobot's smartest robot to date, is the Roomba j7+. Its greatest advancement is an obstacle detection system that uses built-in AI to detect objects such as charging cords, shoes and the dreaded pet waste the majority of other robots cannot avoid (and often go through). It's the first robot to provide you with a picture of an object that it encounters, so you can instruct that it is safe to avoid it.

The Combo J7+ is the best robot mop that we have ever tested. It picks up dirt and spills easily leaving no trace it was there. It's simple to control via the iRobot Home app which allows you to schedule cleaning times and set up Keep Out Zones to ensure it doesn't vacuum areas you do not want it to. It's also compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant, so you can control it from start to stop using your voice.

Its design is an improvement over the rest, with a sleek top piece that looks more like a toy robotic rather than a loud, loud one. And the Clean Base Automatic Dirt Disposal System is self-emptying which is great for reducing your cleanup time.

In our tests, the j7+ was quick to pick up and remove dust, dirt and pet hair. The rubber brushes that counter-rotate kept the debris in its place instead of scattering it on the floor. It was able to collect small pieces of gravel, sand, and even a bit of grit. The majority of robots cannot achieve this feat. It did all this without getting tangled up in our pet's shedding hair.

While it's not quite as efficient as the $1,217 Roomba s9+ Auto-Emptying Vacuum, which isn't able to clean stairs The j7+ is still a solid option for those who require both mopping and a vac in their home. It's not too expensive and the iRobot App makes it easy to use.

The iRobot Home App is easy to use, but we found it less reliable than other robotic cleaner apps. It can take some time to download updates, and often it's difficult to know whether the update actually functioning until you've seen it in the action.

2. Roborock Q5+

If you're looking for a vacuum that does more than just clean floors, your best option is probably one that is a hybrid. This category of bots typically includes a built-in water tank that allows them to vacuum and mop your home at the same time. They also have a range of additional features, such as smart mapping, small obstacles avoidance, and the ability to wash and dry mopping pads. They're costly at full retail but often lower prices on Black Friday or Cyber Monday.

Roborock is one of our top robot vacuums, and the Q5+ isn't an exception. It's their cheapest auto-empty model. While it lacks some of the features that are found on more expensive models (like no-go zones and multi-story memory) it's still an excellent option if you're willing sacrifice a bit to save some hundred dollars.

The Q5+ is extremely gentle when it comes down to obstacles like table legs and walls. This makes it an ideal option for homes with a lot of furniture. It's also very thorough when it comes to cleaning up dust bunnies, which is a problem where many cheaper robot vacuums often be a bit sloppy. The Q5+'s navigation system is also superb, with only a few mishaps along walls and in corners.

Like other Roborock devices, the Q5+ can be controlled using a few buttons on the device itself or via the Roborock app. The app allows you to start and stop cleaning. You can also set schedules, design virtual barriers and no-go areas or adjust your home map, or re-label rooms.

If you opt for the Q5+ model, it comes with a brand new auto-empty dock, which was specifically designed to make the robot easy to maintain. Installing it requires a screwdriver however, once it's in place, emptying the bin can be done with relative ease. It also features an impressive LCD display which is great to have when setting up schedules or altering settings. This isn't a necessary feature for the majority of people, but it's one that will aid in keeping the track of the maintenance intervals for your robot easily.

3. Narwal Freo X Ultra

The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is a sophisticated, well-rounded mop and vacuum. It's capable of mopping and vacuuming. Its design and functionality are among the top available - but it's also pricey.

It's a tiny base station that looks great and can be hidden when not in use. But the station's biggest selling point is how it automates various tasks and functions that most other robots will leave to you. It stores clean and dirty water, electrolyzes and heats the water (which most other robovacs require you to do) and empty the dust bin after vacuuming, and keeps your robot charged and clean.

And its vacuuming is impressive and efficient, too. It's the only robovacs that I've tested that do very well at collecting debris from unfinished floors, and it's not as loud as the more expensive Roomba 980 or iRobot the 900 series.

However, the Freo X Ultra has its flaws, particularly in terms of navigation. Its LiDAR and laser sensors aren't as reliable as other robovacs, which means it is sometimes stuck or confused in certain rooms or corners of the home. It can't climb stairs as well as competitors, and doesn't come with a dock that lets you to set up an exclusive cleaning zone for carpets that are soft.

The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is a great option for those looking for a vacuum robot that can do everything.

If you're looking to save money or don't mind the limitations of the robot, there are other options available. Many eufy models cost significantly less. The eufy Qrevo curv, for example is a bit more expensive, but offers more features, including stair climbing and a full-function Dock, with an improved overall experience when vacuuming on bare floors carpets, low-pile carpets, and even high-pile carpets.

4. Eufy RoboVac G30

eufy, an Anker company is a long-standing leader of creating robot vacuums that strike the right balance between performance, features and price.  smart vacuum cleaner  offers a powerful cleaning on carpets and hard flooring, and mopping capabilities for a low cost. It's simple to set up, just attach one of the side brushes and then turn it on. Then plug in your charging dock. The app guides you through a few steps to connect to your Wi-Fi, and the G30 is ready to go. The dock should be placed close to an outlet that has plenty of room to move.

The G30 is tiny, 2.85 inches tall to be exact and will fit under many couches and other low-clearance furniture. Its design is a little less ostentatious than some rival models, sporting a sleek black finish and three physical buttons such as Auto Cleaning start/pause, Recharge, and Spot Cleaning (which scrubs an area in spiral patterns for 2 minutes). You can also connect the G30 to Amazon Alexa or Google Home to do unscheduled cleaning with voice commands.

The way the G30 cleans is what separates it from its competitors. It makes use of an integrated map to make an image of the unmovable objects in its path. It remembers the things it has cleaned and where it cannot access. It then returns to the base to recharge and then continues cleaning the area it left.

The sleek G30 isn't without its faults, though. The iRobot Roomba is better built and has lower monthly costs. It is faster to charge, has a similar battery life, and is more effective on bare flooring or carpet with a low pile. It also comes with a larger dust bin that doesn't require to be emptied as often and comes with an array of boundary strips to restrict it from certain areas. The G30, however is more affordable and much simpler to maintain. Its smaller dust canister doesn't require as frequent emptying and is less prone to suffocating heavy materials like cereal.
